Location: Chelmsford, Essex - Office based
Salary: £15,500 per annum (3 days per week)
Hours: 24 hours per week (8 hours per day with 1 hour lunch per day)
Contract: Permanent, part-time
The Role
As an Ecommerce Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running and growth of our online store. You’ll work closely with the eCommerce and marketing team, gaining hands-on experience across product management, SEO, content, and website optimisation.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring our product data is accurate, structured, and optimised to help customers find the right parts for their vehicle. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, digitally minded, and keen to learn, with clear progression opportunities into more senior eCommerce, marketing, or content roles over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Uploading and configuring new products in Shopify, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Maintaining and improving the product catalogue, including variants, collections, and vehicle compatibility metafields
- Writing, optimising, and maintaining SEO-friendly product titles, descriptions, and metadata
- Following internal processes for product structure, naming conventions, and SEO best practice
- Assisting with small Shopify theme and content updates (homepage, landing pages, navigation, merchandising)
- Supporting blog creation, including formatting, publishing, and basic SEO optimisation
- Photographing products when required and organising imagery for use across the website
- General website housekeeping to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high standards
- Competitor research to help improve product presentation and on-site merchandising
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- A genuine interest in eCommerce, digital marketing, or online retail
- Basic understanding of SEO principles (or a strong willingness to learn)
- Confidence using digital tools and platforms (Shopify or CMS experience is a bonus)
- Comfortable working with written content, imagery, and structured product data
- Strong written English with the ability to describe products clearly
- Comfortable following processes and style guidelines
- An interest in automotive products is beneficial but not required
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a desire to grow and develop
