Folosind tehnologia de scanare 3D, tubul sistemului de admisie pentru BMW G80 M3/ G82 M4 este realizat dintr-o singură bucată și curbat lin pentru a oferi un traseu direct pentru fluxul de aer, astfel încât să poată funcționa cu o rezistență redusă. Dacă există nepotriviri sau diferențe de nivel, acestea vor provoca turbulențe ale aerului în interiorul tubului. Prin urmare, am proiectat tubul nu doar dintr-o singură bucată, ci și cu o mărire progresivă pentru a permite aerului să pătrundă lin în admisia turbo, pentru o funcționare mai eficientă.
Cutia de aer a fost proiectată cu un scut termic pentru a izola căldura din compartimentul motor și pentru a oferi cât mai mult volum posibil, după cum se poate observa. Sistemul de admisie este realizat din fibră de carbon fină, un material cu densitate redusă și un raport foarte ridicat între rezistență și greutate.
Fibrele de carbon sunt rezistente fără a se încărca ca oțelul sau aluminiul și sunt unele dintre cele mai puternice fibre de armare comerciale, făcându-le perfecte pentru aplicații în modificarea motoarelor. De asemenea, au un coeficient scăzut de dilatare termică, ceea ce înseamnă că sunt mai puțin predispuse să-și schimbe forma când sunt expuse la căldură comparativ cu alte materiale. În plus, sunt în mod natural rezistente la oxidare, ceea ce le face potrivite pentru locuri expuse la temperaturi ridicate.
