The cars we're most excited for in 2023!

We're over halfway through 2022, and our focus has quickly turned to cars that are due to be entering the roads in 2023.

There's no hiding we're extra excited for a few releases, so here's the top 3 cars we're most looking forward to seeing in 2023. In no particular order...

1) BMW G81 M3 Touring

The long awaited G81 M3 Touring was finally unveiled by BMW at Goodwood in June this year. The reaction was definitely a good one, aesthetically we think the controversial GXX series grille style actually works, balanced out with the touring shape. The G81 will not be available to buy in the US and that's not the only restriction BMW are rumoured to have put on this model.

The first-ever BMW M3 Touring is only available in xDrive and naturally, with an eight-speed M automatic transmission. Even with the spec restrictions, the car is going to be a beast. By utilising technology from the current BMW M3 and M4, the 510 hp motor, M specific axles, wide tyres and wide-body chassis is in-keeping with everything that belongs in a proper BMW M3.

Rumoured to be released in late 22' or early 23', we can't wait to see these out and about in the UK. We're currently looking into some carbon fibre and gloss black body kit options for the car ready for its much anticipated arrival. 

2) Lotus Emira

Next up, the Lotus Emira. We're especially excited for this one as it's going to be the next addition to the AUTOID shop car fleet. The new Emira was revealed in early July and Lotus have tagged it 'The most accomplished Lotus ever made'. A big statement to live up to but we have high hopes for this all-new mid-engined sports car. 

So, what's to like? Firstly, the Lotus Emira looks incredible, it resembles a supercar in design but can be yours for a sports car budget. It's not only the aesthetic appeal, a supercharged V6 engine (as seen and loved from its sister models, the Exige and Evora) in a world of muted turbo-charged cars is a big selling point. Finally, we've not been a fan of previous Lotus interiors but that opinion has changed with this model. They've stepped up introducing a 10 inch touch screen with Apple Carplay as well as a clean 12 inch display above the steering wheel.

Deliveries of the Lotus Emira we're due to be made this year, however manufacturing delays mean we're likely to see these on the roads in late 2022 or early 2023. Either way, we're going to be creating a madness with this car so stay tuned.

3) BMW G87 M2/M2C

The next generation of BMW M2/M2C has nearly landed. Safe to say, we're very excited for this one. The OG M2 F87 and F87 Competition were and are still heritage cars for us, they really kick started our journey as we gained a reputation for quality pre-preg carbon fibre parts with our TRE Carbon Fibre Mirror Covers and OG M2 Carbon Splitter. We've had some insane builds of the previous generation come through our doors and we're itching to be part of the next.

The BMW G87's release comes with some controversial design elements. The GXX style grille has been cut in half to form part of the new front end paired with t some boxy cutouts in the front bumper. At first glance, I'm not completely sold. However, as we've seen with the BMW G42 2 series (which will carry an extremely similar shape as the new M2), you can't judge BMW's design choices until you see the car in the flesh. With a few mods, I have no doubt the G87/G87C will be an absolute headturner for all the right reasons.

The S58 engine from the M3 and M4 will be making another appearance under the hood of the new M2. We can expect about 420 horsepower output, with two transmission options; a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. We will only have the option of a rear-wheel-drive car though, BMW have decided not to bring their infamous xDrive option onto the spec sheet this time around.

We're going to be getting one to for the AUTOID fleet, so keep an eye out for the next generation of M2 Madness.

3) Ferrari Purosangue

The Ferrari Purosangue is the latest addition to the Ferrari stable, and it's a real beauty. The Purosangue is a sleek and stylish SUV that's sure to turn heads when it hits the roads. But Ferrari isn't known for producing practical cars, so what's the Purosangue all about?

Well, the Purosangue is Ferrari's answer to the Lamborghini Urus. It's a high-performance SUV that's been designed to offer exceptional handling and performance. And Ferrari has certainly delivered on that front, with the Purosangue boasting a naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces an impressive 725 bhp. That power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, ensuring that the Purosangue is capable of hitting 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and topping out at 193mph.

But the Purosangue isn't just about straight-line speed. Ferrari has also equipped it with an adaptive suspension system and active roll control, which work together to keep the SUV flat and planted through corners. There's also a clever four-wheel steering system that helps the Purosangue zip through turns with ease.

So, if you're looking for a high-performance SUV that's sure to turn heads, then the Ferrari Purosangue is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared to take out a second mortgage to finance it!
