Mediante el uso de tecnología de escaneo 3D, el tubo del sistema de admisión del BMW G80 M3/ G82 M4 está fabricado en una sola pieza y curvado suavemente para proporcionar un camino directo al flujo de aire, lo que permite que se enrolle con menos resistencia. Si hay desajuste o diferencia de nivel, se generará turbulencia de aire dentro del tubo. Por ello, diseñamos el tubo no solo en una sola pieza, sino también con un ensanchamiento progresivo para permitir que el aire fluya suavemente hacia la entrada del turbo y funcione con mayor eficiencia.
La caja de aire ha sido diseñada con un escudo térmico para aislar el calor del compartimento del motor y proporcionar el mayor volumen posible, como puede verse. Y el sistema de admisión está fabricado con fibra de carbono fina, un material de baja densidad con una relación resistencia-peso muy alta.
La fibra de carbono es resistente sin volverse pesada como el acero o el aluminio, y es una de las fibras comerciales de refuerzo más fuertes, lo que la hace perfecta para aplicaciones en modificaciones de motor. Además, tiene un coeficiente de expansión térmica bajo, lo que significa que es menos probable que cambie de forma al exponerse al calor en comparación con otros materiales. También es naturalmente resistente a la oxidación, lo que la hace adecuada para lugares donde puede estar expuesta al calor.
