The BMW G87 M2 already commands attention, but with the TRE TR87 body kit, it becomes a true statement piece. In this post, we take a closer look at a recent customer build featuring the full TR87 kit—paired with complementary upgrades that enhance both aesthetics and performance.

TRE produces pre-preg carbon fibre styling components for high-performance vehicles—ranging from mirror caps to full aerodynamic body kits. Their philosophy? To elevate OEM design language through meticulous craftsmanship, exceptional fitment, and flawless finishes
This build features the ‘Flat’ variation of the TR87 kit, which includes a three-piece front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a rear spoiler lip. Each component is also available individually and backed by a three-year warranty.
The TRE TR87 carbon styling range has become popular among G87 owners due to its precise fitment that merges seamless to the body, blend of aggressive yet subtle styling crafted using the highest grade of manufacturing in construction and finish.

Alongside the carbon fibre styling we also fitted TRE CSL grille, a full Milltek OPF back exhaust system with stainless tips and valve controller, Eibach lowering springs with bimecc wheel spacers, Goldenwrench engine bay cap covers, Yellow DRLs and a piper cross air intake.
Having previously owned an F80 M3, the customer opted for the G87 M2 as a more daily-driver-friendly platform—with plenty of headroom to surpass the capabilities of their previous build.
However in stock form the G87 really benefits from these upgrades we recommended for a more exciting and engaging driving experience.
G87 M2 Exterior Styling
From the factory, the G87 M2 boasts bold, muscular styling—but TRE’s carbon fibre enhancements add depth, presence, and precision from every angle.
The TRE TR87 flat kit utilises the existing design elements of the M2 from front to rear to create a full cohesive package that you would expect from an OEM optional upgrade.
At the front, the TR87 three-piece splitter subtly extends the chin for a more sculpted look. Its modular construction allows easy upgrades from the ‘Flat’ to the ‘Winglet’ variant or cost-effective replacement of individual sections.
The rear spoiler flows seamlessly from the trunk ensuring easy installation with proportions matching the carbon roof. Moving to the rear bumper the rear diffuser sits proudly complementing the lip and the Milltek exhaust system.
Merging the front and rear carbon upgrades are a set of clean side skirts that work in widening the stance. Added styling parts include the carbon mirror caps and CSL style grille from TRE produced from Pre-preg carbon fibre.
All TRE carbon is produced in a 2x2 twill weave sure to match the OEM weave seen on all BMW carbon fibre products.
Suspension and Stance
Lowering springs and wheel spacers are a common go-to for G87 owners looking to refine stance and handling. On this build, Eibach Pro-Kit springs lower the front by 15–20mm and the rear by 10–15mm—paired with Bimecc spacers (15mm front, 12mm rear) for a flush fitment on OEM wheels.
Exhaust System
Restrictive OPF systems can hinder flow and sound. This customer wanted the best from their G87 M2 so we fitted an OPF delete exhaust system by Milltek. This system utilises a valve controlled system which enables you to open or close the valves manually or left on OEM mode will open the valves based on throttle position.
Optional exhaust tip finishes are available with this system, our customer chose brushed stainless.
*This exhaust system is not for road use in the UK.
Air Intake
To complement the upgraded exhaust, we also addressed the intake system. The stock setup features sound-dampening components that muffle turbo and wastegate acoustics. The solution? A carbon fibre intake from Pipercross—delivering better airflow and enhanced induction sound.
That said, our recommended system remains the Eventuri V2 for those seeking peak performance and carbon craftsmanship.
Engine Bay Dress Up Caps Covers
A budget friendly way of enhancing the engine bay are these billet aluminium cap covers by Goldenwrench. Easy to install and with an option of red, blue or grey and add visual flare to the bay.
Front Grilles
These easy to install mesh protection grilles from Zunsport are a great way to protect important components such as the radiators and intercoolers from damage. These do not work with aftermarket duct inserts.
The customer also decided to swap out the original kidney grilles with these CSL style grilles from TRE.
G87 M2 Transformation by AUTOID
The modifications done to this G87 M2 really complements the contoured and muscular design on these modern M cars. Once you see final transformation, the stock version looks unfinished. Enjoy the video below documenting the fitting of these parts.
