Mk8 Golf GTI: The essential mods

Mk8 Golf GTI: The essential mods - AUTOID

The 8th generation of Volkswagen Golf GTI has landed at AUTOID.

MD Jack's Mk 7.5 Golf R has already got the carbon treatment and now Sam's GTI is ready for a mad transformation. So for you Mk8 owners (or anyone else interested) we're gonna cut the nonsense and jump straight into the essentials:

Carbon fibre splitter

Golf GTI MK8 with a carbon fibre front splitter

Potentially my personal favourite style of splitter I've seen on the Golf GTI, this thing completely transforms the car. The Mk8 has been gifted with a more aggressive face compared to its predecessor and this unique front lip just takes the aggression to whole other level. It comes in two parts (upper and lower slatted part) and fixes directly to the OEM bumper for an easy install.

Fix the fitment

Next stop, perfect fitment. We took a trip to Motech Performance to give Sam's Mk8 the stance it deserved from factory by adding Eibach's Sportline kit (20mm Front & 25mm Rear) lowering springs. We also added some wheel spacers (15mm Rear and 10mm Front) to complete the stance transformation. Safe to say this made a massive difference to the car.

Carbon mirror covers

Carbon mirror caps, the essential first or finishing mod. Manufactured for all Golf Mk8 models and designed to be simple to fit, changing over your OEM mirrors is inexpensive but really effective. If you're look to add carbon to any parts of your MK8 GTI these can tie everything together really well.

Forged Wheels

Black 2Forge ZF6 wheels

A fresh set of wheels can transform any build and would be included in most essential mod lists. For us it was definitely one of the first things on the list. We added some 2Forge ZF1's but we have a large range of options at all different price points.

We've got much more planned for this car and we're excited to start seeing VW Golf's covered in AUTOID Carbon. Want help finding the right parts for your car? Contact us.
