There's a difference between showing someone a finished product and showing them the version before it was finished. Most brands only do the first. This is the second - a look at the TREVORA aero kit for the Audi RS6 while it's still yellow, still 3D printed, and still very much a test fit rather than a launch.
The car underneath it has been sitting still for three months. That's not usually how an AUTOID shop car works, and it's worth saying plainly: delays happened, the RS6 stayed stock longer than planned, and the kit you're about to read about is the reason why.
Why the Kit Took This Long
The TREVORA RS6 kit isn't a bolt on splitter and a spoiler bought off a shelf. It's a four piece system - a three part front splitter, side skirts, a three part rear diffuser, and a rear spoiler designed, printed, test fitted, and refined before a single production unit exists. The prototype fitted here is printed in highlighter yellow, not because that's the finish, but because it shows up any surface flaws, lines, and contrast against paint. What matters is the shape underneath the colour.
Getting that shape right took repeated attempts. Fitting the front splitter alone accounted for four broken test pieces before the panel gap and edge line sat correctly against the bumper, which is the kind of detail that doesn't show up on paper, but is the entire reason a kit looks like it belongs on the car rather than added to it.
The Diffuser: Solving for Fitment First
The rear diffuser mounts using the OEM clip and bolt points, which meant it needed to work within a shape Audi had already engineered around, including a tow bar. As tested, the diffuser isn't compatible with a fitted tow bar without trimming; the team has flagged this honestly rather than glossing over it, and a template is planned so RS6 owners with both a tow bar and this diffuser know exactly what needs modifying at install.
One deliberate omission: the OEM "kick sensor" plate for hands free boot opening isn't accommodated in the new diffuser design. It's a minor feature to lose, and one the team clearly isn't mourning.
Because the prototype was printed in sections to fit the printer's build volume, this test unit shows visible joins between panels that won't exist on the finished, one piece production diffuser. Test fit only! Worth remembering when judging what's in these photos.
The Splitter and Side Skirts: One Design Language, Three Panels
The front splitter ships in three pieces by design, not as a cost cutting measure. Modularity means a kerbed corner only costs the price of the damaged section, not the whole splitter, and it keeps shipping more manageable. Installation allows either full assembly before fitting or building it up directly on the car.
The side skirts follow the same design line as the splitter and diffuser, extending only as far as the stock skirt, which is enough to visually lower the car's stance without compromising entry and exit. That last point is a genuine trade off other kits get wrong: a skirt you're afraid to step near on the way out of the car isn't one you'll want to live with daily.
The Spoiler: Extending the Roofline
The rear spoiler is a single piece 3D printed unit designed to extend the RS6's roofline. The car's factory roof edge was described as looking slightly abrupt from the rear three quarter, the spoiler's job is to draw that line out and give the rear end more visual length. A subtle transition between the spoiler and the roof panel is layered rather than flush, which gives flow instead of just stuck on.
Supporting the Kit: Intake and Exhaust
Alongside the TREVORA aero, this car also received an Eventuri panel filter intake in matte carbon fibre chosen deliberately in matte, per the build's own rule of matte for cabin facing parts and gloss for anything visible from outside and a Milltek non-resonated catback exhaust. Both are supporting modifications and relevant context: this is a car being built as a full package.
What This Test Fit Actually Tells You
None of this is the finished product. The yellow prototype comes off the car again once production units are ready, and the honest fitment issues, the tow bar clearance, and the visible panel joins are exactly what a test fit is meant to surface before customers ever see the kit.
