Our favourite mods for the G42 M240i so far

The G42 M240i shop car has been completely transformed since arriving with us in March. It's been a pleasure having it as an AUTOID shop car and we'd like to think a few opinions have been changed from the press photos that stirred up controversy (my mind has certainly been changed). We're far from finished with it but an update was overdue, so here is our favourite 6 mods for the new BMW M240i so far.

1) G42 Eventuri Intake

We took a trip down to Evolve Automotive to get our Eventuri intake fitted in March. Eventuri developed this intake to provide the G42's turbo with a less restrictive airflow path whilst maintaining low inlet temperatures.

They have maximised volume by making the airbox as large as possible with a recess for potential strut braces. The stock intake tube is replaced with a smooth carbon tube for a more heat resistant, weight effective and aesthetically pleasing engine bay. It honestly makes the car sound nuts- watch the video below to watch the fitting process and to hear the intake in action:

2) Westforged Wheels

I've said it before and I'll say it again, wheels can make or break a build. That's why getting a good set of wheels on our store for the G42 was high on the priority list. We wanted to design the perfect fitting lightweight wheel for the brand new BMW G42 M240i xDrive. We collaborated with West Forged, utilising their extensive engineering knowledge to create a clean and classic multi spoke design. 

The design features modern touches such as a hollow pockets within the spokes and with the central hub. This reduces weight even further and as a result, unsprung mass. We think these look great and paired with the MSS Springs that are next on the list, you're able to get perfect fitment. 

3) MSS Lowering Springs

Before we could put the wheels on, we took another trip to Evolve Automotive for them to fit some MSS Adjustable Lowering Springs. Not only did the drastically improve the look of the car, but it also handles better now its been dropped.

The great thing about these springs is that you can go as low as you want. As the name suggests, they are completely adjustable meaning you can drop or raise the car to whatever height feels and looks best.

4) TRE Interior Carbon Kit

The M240i G42 is the first 'non-M Car' to gain the BMW M Style seats and seatbelts as seen in the new M3/M4's. To compliment these features we added a few TRE Carbon Fibre touches to the interior and it takes it to a whole new level. We added TRE Carbon Seat Back Covers , TRE Carbon Steering Wheel Trim and TRE Carbon Paddle Shifters.

All of the TRE carbon touches are 2x2 weave to match both genuine BMW M Performance and our own carbon exterior parts so the car can flow from the inside to out.

5) Milltek Exhaust

The M240i took a trip up to Milltek Sport in Derby to get the UK's first G42 Milltek exhaust system. They developed a Valved OPF/GPF Back system combined with quad GT100 Cerakote Black Tips, massively improving the rear end and sound of the car. 

We've had so many compliment on this exhaust, it's a must have addition.

6) M Performance Carbon Kit

Lastly, we can't forget about the exterior carbon mods. We recently had another G42 in purple down for a full BMW M Performance carbon kit and it looks mega. 

The kit consists of a front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and side blades. We also sell mirror covers to complete the look.
