You may have seen the photos of 50 car convoys and rows of pristine Italian exotica, but what actually happens when you give the world’s most exclusive car club the keys to Donington Park for a completely unsilenced track day?

We were invited down to the Supercar Driver (SCD) Season Opener to see how the "1%" spend an average Tuesday. Which involved a lot of high octane fuel, some ear splitting N/A symphonies, and a roadside blowout.
The day didn't exactly start with "supercar" precision. On the way up to Donington, our G90 M5 suffered a blowout. Jack, ever the optimist, managed to get us back on the road with a Dovroad budget. 😬

While we weren't taking the M5 on track (thankfully), we did bring the AUTOID GT3 along. With the titanium Boost Logic exhaust system ready to rip, we were slightly worried about being the loudest thing there... until we saw the neighbors.
When you walk into an SCD event, your sense of "normal" value gets recalibrated very quickly. We’re talking about an estimated £300 million worth of metal sitting in one paddock.

Nathan’s "Supercar Quiz" didn't go quite as planned mixing up an Aston Martin Vanquish with a Valkyrie but it’s hard to blame him when you’re staring at:
- The Ferrari Enzo: A V12 icon that is currently skyrocketing in value.
- The Ferrari SF90 XX: Pure track focused aggression.
- The Aston Martin Valhalla: Stunning to look at, even if we still wish it had a V12…
- The Lanzante 95-59 XP: A central seat development prototype that looked like something out of a sci fi movie.
Donington Park is a special place, but it’s even better when there are no noise limits. Taking the GT3 out was a sensory overload. Being on track with these cars around us felt like a video game. The GT3 was darting into corners with total clarity, communicating every ripple in the tarmac through the steering wheel.
"I feel like a racing driver because I’ve got so much clarity on what the car is doing. Under power, this exhaust system is just insane." — Jack

It wasn’t just about the driving. Alpine was on site giving us a taste of the F1 life with a pit stop challenge. The AUTOID crew won’t be getting a call from them anytime soon… our wheel gun skills need work.
Beyond the multi million pound and limited edition car, what makes these days special is the community. Chatting with owners who have been collecting for decades, seeing everything from pre war racers worth £10m+ to the swift performance G87 M2, reminds us why we do what we do.

It’s easy to get lost in the numbers, but at the end of the day, it’s about the noise, the smell, and the shared obsession with all things automotive.
