Frequently asked questions

Which G90 M5 exhaust saves the most weight?

Akrapovič is the only brand here to quote a figure. It gives 6.12 kg (31.8%) less than the stock exhaust for the Slip-On Line on OPF-equipped cars, and 15.44 kg (41.1%) for the Evolution Line, which is made for non-OPF M5s sold in North America and Asia.

Which G90 M5 exhausts are road legal?

Akrapovič's Slip-On Line is ECE type approved on cars with a petrol particulate filter, and the Remus axle-back has EC approval. Milltek describes its OPF/GPF bypass as ideal for track use and says it needs ECU coding or a remap, and Seletron says its XPF emulator is for racing and off-road use only.

Do G90 M5 exhausts keep the particulate filter?

Some do and some don't. Akrapovič's Slip-On Line is built for cars with a particulate filter, and Milltek's axle-back replaces only the rear section. Milltek's OPF/GPF bypass and full catback remove the filter, and both need ECU coding or a remap. Our sound upgrade comes with either the Milltek axle-back or the full catback.

How do the Akrapovič, Milltek and Remus systems for the G90 differ?

Both Akrapovič systems are titanium: the Slip-On Line for cars with a particulate filter and the Evolution Line for non-OPF cars. Milltek's system is T304 stainless steel and comes as an axle-back or a full catback. Remus makes a stainless steel axle-back, with a choice of tips.

What's in the G90 M5 sound upgrade?

It pairs a Milltek exhaust, offered as an axle-back or a full catback with a choice of tip finishes, with Eventuri's carbon fibre intake kit in gloss or matte, for the G90 M5 saloon and G99 M5 Touring. Fitting at AUTOID can be chosen at checkout, or contact our team to arrange it.

Exhausts and exhaust parts for the BMW G90 M5 saloon and G99 M5 Touring from Akrapovič, Milltek Sport, Remus and Seletron.

There are titanium systems from Akrapovič: the Slip-On Line for cars with a particulate filter, and the Evolution Line for non-OPF M5s sold in North America and Asia. There are also Milltek's T304 stainless steel exhaust system and OPF/GPF bypass, the Remus axle-back, and our G90 M5 sound upgrade, which pairs a Milltek axle-back or full catback with an Eventuri intake.

Akrapovič lists ECE type approval for the Slip-On Line on cars with a petrol particulate filter, and Remus lists EC approval for its axle-back. Milltek's full catback removes the OPF/GPF and needs ECU coding or a remap, and Seletron's XPF emulator is for racing and off-road use only. Each product page says which applies.
