If you're Googling this, you're probably wondering - what is going on?! Has BMW been hacked? Whats happened to their social media pages? Have BMW been hacked? On Wednesday 13th December, BMWs social media was taken over by a suspicious 'Dee'. They began to post memes on their channels, something out of character for the normally professional and slick BMW handles. This is a PR stunt by BMW to generate conversion around their brand - most likely in view of launching a new car or promotion. It wasn't just their Instagram, it was their TikTok and Facebook pages too. Throughout the day, "Dee" dropped videos of them talking to BMWs followers, along with memes and other non-car associated conversation. Presumably, with normal service resuming from then on. Just a BMW Marketing Stunt? What do you think of these types of campaigns? Is this good marketing?
